Privacy policy
This policy covers the Kachunk macOS app and the getkachunk.com website, both operated by Trifecta Labs, LLC ("we", "us").
Kachunk listens locally, and only locally
To play a sound when you type, Kachunk uses macOS's Input Monitoring permission to observe keystroke events. This happens entirely on your Mac. Kachunk does not record what you type, does not store your keystrokes, and does not transmit them — or anything else — anywhere. There is no logging of key content, no keylogging of any kind, and no network activity during normal use.
The app contains no analytics or telemetry frameworks, requires no account, and works fully offline. Your settings (chosen pack, volume) are stored locally on your Mac and never leave it.
The one time the app goes online
If you purchase the complete sound pack, activating your license key sends the key itself to our licensing provider, Polar, to verify it's valid. No personal information, usage data, or information about your Mac beyond what's technically necessary for the request is included. This happens only when you activate.
Payments are handled by Polar
The complete sound pack is sold through Polar, who act as the merchant of record. When you buy, Polar collects your email address, billing country, and payment details, and processes the charge — we never see your card number. Polar's handling of your data is described in their privacy policy.
We receive from Polar the information needed to deliver and support your purchase: your email address, order details, and your license key. We use it only to provide the product, handle refunds, and answer your support requests. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or add you to any marketing list.
Static, cookie-free, analytics-free
getkachunk.com is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Two third parties are involved in serving it:
- Vercel hosts the site and, like any web host, may keep standard server access logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) for security and operations. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers (disclosing your IP address to Google in the process). See Google's privacy policy.
Support correspondence
If you email support@getkachunk.com, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to help you and handle any follow-ups. We don't use support emails for marketing.
Access, correction, deletion
Since the app collects nothing, there's usually nothing to request — but if you've purchased the complete pack or emailed us, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@getkachunk.com and we'll take care of it. For data held by Polar, you can also contact them directly.
Children's privacy
Kachunk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them — or, for that matter, from anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Kachunk handles data — for example, if a future version adds an online feature — we'll update this page and change the effective date above. The current version always lives at getkachunk.com/privacy.
